BIIANCO
BIIANCO

BIIANCO is the electronic chill-wave brainchild of LA-based multi-instrumentalist and producer, Gabby Bianco. After years of relying on other producers, BIIANCO decided to write, engineer and produce her entire debut solo EP — settling comfortably into the producer’s chair she had seen so rarely occupied by womxn — and playing every instrument on the tracks.

BIIANCO, who identifies as a queer woman, keeps female empowerment at the epicenter of her music, hiring an all-womxn crew to execute her debut music video, single art and incorporating female collaborators throughout the EP. Sonically, BIIANCO downtempo beats, hand-crafted sweeping pads and airy vocal samples. She easily earns comparisons to Bob Moses, RÜFÜS DU SOL or Moby with some of her darker elements likening to Portishead.

In her debut single, get up, BIIANCO delivers a gentle war-cry to the people who try to keep you down. “I wanted to show that ferocity can sometimes come in the form of a whisper,” she explains. “The most voracious declarations are focused and calm.” Amidst the celestial pads, floating vocal samples and heart wrenching strings, she provides the anthem we’ve all been waiting to give our haters: “You want to watch me fall? You’re gonna watch me get up get up get up this time.” BIIANCO tapped UK-based Grammy-award winning engineer, Matt Wiggins (Adele, Glass Animals), for mixing on the track.
